96-98 Cobra?

I'm in the market for a Mustang finally, and I have decided that I want a Cobra. I really want a 96-98, but would think about a 94-95 or maybe a 99. Is there any advantage to any of these years over the others? I know of a few mods that I want to do when i get it too.

My sister had a 95 Cobra that she bought new, it unfortunately got totaled due to water damage.

Thanks for your time.

You should probably be able to find out all kinds of info around here. 94 to 95 5.0, cheaper to build. My 97 is super fun to drive, as long as traffic allows. Finding a super clean low mileage cobra will cost you. I just planned on replacing stuff that broke with better stuff. Good luck There is a 96 vert for sale right down my street, but he wants like 16500 for it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know that a good, clean, low mileage Cobra is gonna cost, that is why I'm selling my 1966 Chevelle. I found a 97 Cobra coupe with 64k miles for $10,500. I'm definately not gonna buy just anything, i'm gonna shop around and take my time.

The message boards here have really helped me alot so far. I love this website!

Yep, i'm selling my Chevelle. It's Dupont "Rocket Red" with 17" Cragar SS wheels. Running a mild 327 with a Muncie 4 speed. I just feel that it's time to move on.

If i sell the Chevelle I'm gonna go after that 97 for $10,500 first, and then work from there if that one is already gone. Thanks again guys.
