I'm rebuilding my 4.6 using my block and Pistons. And using a 98 cobra rods and crank and top end. What else do I need to do? I'm new to the modular engines. I have a Cleveland in my 70 mach 1. It's totally a different animal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First, I'll just suggest that you not reuse stock pistons. Go forged. Rods can vary, depending on which Cobra. 03-04 Cobra rods? Great choice. If you have a Cobra crank, use it but is it necessary? I still don't know what hp level or induction, or even what heads you're planning to use. What do you want this car to do, in terms of running a number, or a dyno sheet?

Tom

PS - I'll be nice since it seems you're new here. Nobody like a chevy. Dont do it.

Going with the cobra 4 v heads. The reason I was going with stock is it raises comp ratio to 10.5 to 1. Where I believe the cobra is around 8.5 to 9 to 1. I'm new to the modular engines but I have been reading up on them.

I agree with going with forged internals unless costs are an issue. But building a 4.6 isn't much different than building anything else basically. The 4V will be a higher revving engine but you'll need some low end help with gears. 3.73's would be my choice. Put a roots type blower on that thing and let it eat.
