97 cobra injectors

i have a friend who has a 97 cobra and he got bigger injectors .... so my question is would his stock injectors work on my car which is a 97 gt and even if i didn't replace the maf, would they still work LIKE my stock injectors, what would need to be done to make them give me more power?
and what size are the injectors on cobras?

The MAF works using a hotwire setup, the tube that surrounds the wire is calibrated at a certain size to allow enough airflow to work in conjuction with the corresponding injector size.. In theory, yes, the Cobra MAF will work with 24lb injectors without a doubt.. You can get a specific tune which IMO every car needs due to slight differences to fine tune this calibration if you wanted..

Whether or not the MAF will work on the GT, I'm pretty sure it will, take a look at the connector on the GT and see if it has the oval connector, I'm almost positive they all do now.

It's programmed to follow a fuel mapping, basically a linear line, however if you change the MAF sensor it's changing the overall value for the specific size injector. Of course you can tune the fuel mapping that's what fine tuning is! But for general usage, the MAF is calibrated for injector size.

Again that is incorrect. The eec has specific prameters for injector size. They are the injector low slope, injector high slope, injector offset etc.
Injector setup in the EEC is completely separate from MAF settings. If you change the injectors you change the Injector settings. You do not touch the MAF table unless you change the MAF, and vise versa. The MAF is not calibrated in any way to an injector size. It is calibrated to a flow table of flow to voltage. When fine tuning this table is manipulated in order to correct any variances. This has nothing to do with the injectors. Load is also calulated using the MAF. Once the use a MAF that has been "calibrated" to an injector size, it does nothing but fool the eec into thinking that a different amount of air is going in than there actually is. This forces the EEC to adjust the pulswidth of the injectors to the false reading to get the desired a/f ratio. The problem is that since you are now providing a false reading to the eec, the load calculation is now off. This completely throws off most of the WOT fuel and spark functions since many of them are based on load.

It may need fine tuning but it will run, and I should think better than the 19lbers. I've done it, my friends have done it, it works. I've had many setups from 19lb injectors with stock MAF's to 42lb injectors with C&L MAF's. I've also used Lightning setups which is 30lb injectors with their factory MAF.

Just because you can make something work doesn't mean it is the right way to do it. Yes playing with combinations of MAF's and injectors sizes may throw off both the injector calulations and the MAF calulations to cancel each other out and end with something close to the desired a/f ratio. That doesn't change the fact the load calculations are then going to be off as well.
