97 tranny on 5.0

will a 97 gt 5 speed tranny fit on a 5.0?
i think the tranny might be a little bit longer,if so ill cut the driveshaft, but is there any other problems with that working/fitting. maybe the crossmember...if so PLEASE let me know what problems i will encounter or if it'll even work.

need help ASAP i found a STEAL on a basically brand new 97 gt engine and tranny and was thinkin of using the tranny is possible and selling motor. my t-5 is shot.

will not work

it will not fit on your 5.0 for one the 5.0 used a 2 bolt starter the 4.6 a three hole and belhousing bolting pattern is different

cant you change the bellhousing? and im not sure about the starter, is there something you could change or anything so it would work? im not to much of a motorhead but am learning

You can use some kind of mini- starter, not sure which one or anything, but I know a guy that put a T45 in a 88 coupe that was an auto.

Can the swap be made to work?

Can the swap be made to work? or not I have a shot t5 and a good t45.

it might be a great deal, but from what i've gathered the t45 is just as much crap as the t5.

for all the trouble it would take to make that tranny fit your motor, you might as well have bought a 3550 or swapped the 4.6 into your car

(there's k-members out there for just that swap in case you're interested)
