98 auto with 4.10

hey guys, i have a 98 auto and want to put in a 4.10 gear with SCT2. i read earlier forums, there are mix comments weather SCT2 can correct the speedo since pre-99 has mechnical speedo. thanks i would like to stick with SCT2 rather than speedcal

Refer to the portion which reads, "Can also use on 94-98 mustangs instead of using speedo drive gear for a more accurate speedometer calibration."

And, it's 10 bucks cheaper than the Dallas Mustang one.

They SCT won't fix the 96-98 speedo, but still get it. It will do alot more than just that.
Just use both, the STC for the tune and the speed-cal for your speedo....

You'll need a speedcal for your '98 since the speedometer is mechanically linked, not electronically linked. Can only speak for the Dallas Mustang speedcal since it's the one I have. It conveniately sits underneath my shifter bezel and you adjust using a series of DIP switches. A very nice device.

A SCT tuner will help with the shift points and other things if you plan other mods.

yep get the speedcal i have a 98 and the speedo is still off and i changed the gear which is only accurate to a 3.55 anyway,i learned this all after buying my diablo to fix the speedo.
