Ok, well i was wondering how big of a job it would be to put an '03 6 speed tanny which im not sure what kind of transmission its actually called, but anyways, yeh.. i have a 98 cobra with the stock 5 speed it came with.. and i wanna put 4.10's with a 6 speed? is that possible and if so how big of a job and also is that gear ratio and transmission a good combo? Especialy if i wanna supercharge soon?

You would need everything...shifter, flywheel, clutch, bellhousing, driveshaft, crossmember, mounts...I am not 100% on the Flywheel and clutch, but I would change them anyway...

The Viper six speed can handle a lot more torque and, I think, has better ratios than the Cobra unit. D&D sells the complete kit with everything you need.

thanks guys. im definitly looking into the D&D. but i was wondering would 4.10's and a 6 speed be S_H_I_T_T_Y? people told me that would suck! I dunno, im thinking that to get a 6 speed installed might cost alot more then the payoff would be. Like an extra gear, but after instalation and all the extras.. would it really be worth it?? what do u guys think?? and while on the topic, would 3.90's or 4.10s be better if i have plans to supercharge with boosted psi?

I don't know why having 4.10s or more would suck. I have 4.30s in my 96 with a viper T56. I love my gear setup, I wouldn't want anything numerically lower than a 4.10 with a car that has a viper T56. You have a 2.97 first gear and 0.50 sixth gear. I can still use my 6th gear around town when going over 40mph. You have something numerically lower than 4.10s and you will only be able to use 6th on the highway and 1st gear will be kind of sluggish.
I gained 2mpg around town and another 3mpg on the highway with my switch from the T45 to viper T56. It is strong as hell, the best transmission I have ever shifted and I plan on keeping the 4.30s even after the turbo goes on. It is pretty expensive but well worth it in my opinoin.

I would personally try even 4:56's. gears are alot cheaper than a blower. if they are too much, go down, but if you get the tranny first, and don't get a blower for a couple of years, that's my advice

The tranni in the 03'-04' Cobra is the Tremec T56. It is a strong tranni for sure, but not as bulletproof as once thought. I would look into the Viper 6 speed for a super strong 6 speed tranni. Tremec makes a nice TKO version of the 6 speed, might be the same one in the Viper.

I actually just got my car back on the road this week after my t-45 blew up. I went with the D&D t-56 and so far im really happy. It is night and day compared to the t-45 and just has an overall better feel to it. I also have 4.10s and a supercharger which is what you mentioned you were considering and i think the gearing of the t-56 is perfect for the combo.

ive got a 98 cobra, 4.30's, and the tremec t-56... the t-45 was grinding and whining so it had to go.... the 6 speed is awesome with 4.30's...

my only problem is that the speed sensor on the 04 cobra tranny is completely different, some tuning shops around here have given me different answers. one says that a tune can fix my speedo while another says that the 04 uses a digital signal, and my 98 used an analog signal... i dont know but, when i plugged it in and drove the car, it jumped up to 160 in second gear! any thoughts on a calibrator or adapter for the speed sensor? HELP!!!! pm with ANY info..

oh btw... the 10.5" clutch will Work with the t-56, but i changed over to an 11" with an aluminum flywheel while i had the tranny out...

oh and i did the swap in a day with help from a buddy... the only problem we ran into was the nuetral safety switch wires had to be extended because the 98's is on the driver side and the six speed's is on the passenger side... that was the only real change... as long as you have a driveshaft... AND you will have to decide what you want to do about the reverse lockout, i put mine on a momentary switch under the dash... very simple, two wires, one to a constant 12v source and the other to a switch - and then to a ground
