98 Gt Stalling Problems

I have a 1998 Gt when I start it just dies, but if I get on the accelerator it will run. But as soon as I get off it dies instantly. I was thinking my throttle body needs cleaning but wanted to see if anyone can give me more help.

Sounds like the old IAC is acting up. Spray it down with thottle body cleaner

yea clean your iac, but after a while of pulling it off and cleaning it. it will have to be replaced, i had to replace mine yesterday. cleaned it 5 times, 90 bucks at ford.

I had the same problem with my iac, ford unfortunately got to the problem before i did so i had to shell out the cash for a new one.

Thanks guys went to NAPA $60 at lunch changed picked up a new IAC, worked like a charm. It all took about 30 minutes still had time to pickup something to eat.

Coulda fixed it for the price of a can of carb cleaner...
