99 4.6 into a 98 4.6

I am droping a 99 Gt motor into my 98 Gt. I have some questions about it, so if anyone has done this before ill take all the help i can get. Ok, here are a few questions i have come up with for now.....

1. Will all the 98 mounts work with the 99?
2. Will all the wiring be the same?
3. Will the ECU's match up or will i need a new one?
4. Will my exhaust be the same or will i need a new one?
5. Will my transmission work or will i need to replace it?

If you have done this before and had complications with something please let me know, ill take all the advice i can get. Thanks

1) Yip
2) You'll need to use your alt., and sensors and stuff as well as your fuel rails and Maf too [I think].
3) Your EEC will be fine
4) Your exhaust will work
5) Your tranny will bolt right up
You'll also need to tap the aluminum crossover on the intake [if the 99' intake has one] for the 2nd temp sensor or else use the fabled T-fitting or put it in the side of the engine block [should be a plug you can remove ]

Unless that 99 engine has much less mileage on it than the 98 or something, I'd just do the PI swap over, to have that bump in compression. Unless you have plans on forced induction? :)

Thanks for everything guys. These were just a few questions i had. Im swapping motors b/c my 98 has a horrific rod knock. Plus, my 98 has 90,000 miles on it while the 99 has 3,000. I was told it was simple but wanted to make sure on a few things. Thanks again and ill keep posting on the progress.

I also reused my alternator and bracket, since the plug is different. I think there is a way to modify the wiring to use the newer style alternator but I didn't bother.
