I know the 99 cobra "fix" has been talked about alot on this site. But all over the web I see so many variations in quarter mile times or 0-60 times for the 99 cobras after the "fix." It would be cool if some other 99 owners could post some stock quarter mile times, trap speed, 0-60...etc after their car had the "fix." One reason I'm curious is that my 99 in stock form is only trapping 99-100mph right now. I'm really not sure if this is how fast the car is after the fix, or whether somethings wrong ( I bought it used). I did call SVT and gave them the VIN number and they told me it had the recall done. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds about right...most stock 99-01's are around 13.8 @ 101-102mph
Some tracks measure your speed differently which can throw the numbers off some.

With just a K&N air filter, o/r H and FlowMasters I got a 13.7 @106mph (if I remember right).

I dont drag mine, but the numbers you posted seem pretty much on-par with what I've seen for stock cobra's after the fix. I can tell you though, that I get a 5.5 0-60 time with my stock after-fix vert. I can't seem to hit that magic 5.4 the brochures talk about

If you're trapping 100 mph stock during the summer, you're doing pretty well. My first time out to the track last July I couldn't quite hit 100 mph, and that was with underdrive pulleys and a C&L MAF. I went out again in February with much colder weather and a new MAC prochamber and trapped 105. I figure the prochamber was good for 2mph or so, and the rest was air temp.

Have you had the car on a dyno?

I have not had the car on the dyno yet. I know 102mph is the average trap speed for 99's. But I barely hit 100, and usually average 98-99mph, and I haven't cracked the 13's yet (although that could be my lack of experience with the car.) I would think to get into the 13's you would have to be trapping over 100mph right? Anyways thanks for the replies, this is my first mustang so any info helps

Oh yeah another thing is I can't run at the track in winter time cause I live up north. The track in New Hampshire is only open from May to October.

Those are very close to my first numbers. I had probably 15 more rwhp than you when I made my first runs, but my car is around 200 lbs heavier than yours, so it all evens out.

Thanks for posting those numbers! It gives me something to go by, it looks like I need some more practice at the track.

Hey guys, I have a 99 cobra as well with just a bassani x pipe, flowmasters, cold air intake and chip, and Im gona try and hit the track this summer up in NH and Im also planning on putting mine on the dyno so Ill post my numbers when I get them. BUT do any of you know how much time a nice steep gear swap will get you in the quarter? I would think it would make all the difference in the world for a Cobra that revs so high. I mean is it really worth it to install some 373 or 410's with good noticable results at the track? I just wish there was a way to give this thing some bottom end without a blower or nitrous, I figure the 410s would help you get over the boring 2 to 4 grand area.
