I just inherited a 99 Cobra vert with 47,000 miles and it has a clunk in the rear end, I found that both of the rear inner axle CV joints have play in them, is this normal?

Thanks,

Dan

The 99-04 Cobra axles have always been a serviceable part... that is to say, people tend to have to upgrade them. And being a 99, yours does not have the stronger axles which came with the 03-04. I think DSS makes an upgrade. But a lot of 99-04 Cobra guys just swap to the 8.8 rear end. It's a cost effective upgrade.
