Can someone explain what years of Cobra tail lights have the yellow turn signals in them?

I thought it was '99 and up to 2004. But then I was told that only up to 2001 actually had the yellow lenses--then they went back to the plain ones everyone else gets.

I have a brand new pair (99 cobra with the yellow lenses) I put up on ebay, but I'm getting conflicting stories as to which year they fit. Won't these at least fit from 1999 to 2004?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes, the 03 Cobras (and 04s I believe) did NOT receive the amber turn signals.
01 was the last model year to receive the "cobra specific amber" taillights.

The reason SVT/Ford stopped this? Many speculated cost savings from the beancounters at FoMoCo...

Regards.

I think the wiring might be slightly different because of the yellow turns having their own bulb...where as the regular turns share the bulb with the parking lights and brakes...

Wiring is different. I have the escort lights for my 98, but with my lack of smarts with electrical have resisted putting them on.

they fit. they are sold in a kit that has instructions. there is a wire in the dash that has to be spliced for the turn signals to work. have known people to do the swap. the wiring is the part that makes the conversion take a while. i think one of the guys i talked to took 4hrs to finish. they do fit all mustangs 99-04. just the v-6/GT need to rewire the the flashers for the turn signals to work right.
