Ok heres my deal . I want to make my GT a manual. I"d like to trade someone that wants to make theirs an auto. My car is a 99 gt with 70,000. there is nothing done to the transmission. its 100% stock and works perfectly. I want to trade someone ALL of my auto part for ALL of their manual parts...including driveshafts, pedals, computer, console...EVERYTHING. So if anyone wants an auto this would be the easiest and cheapest way to go. In fact i even have a hooby shop we can use with lifts so in a weekend both cars could be swaped. I'm in Tucson AZ btw.

SO anyone?

you would be better off selling your car and buying a manual

i've thought about the same thing, but it's just not worth it. Ur not gunna find a stang that has a 5-speed who's owner wants a used auto. Use the money u would spend on converting and put it into a manual once u sell ur car if you can't stand the perfect gear shifting of the auto on 1/4's

+1 if your car is stock or mildly modded

oh c'mon - you guys are no fun...I converted mine from an auto to a manual and it was a great learning experience and actually kinda fun. I do doubt that youre going to find too many people who want to swap the other way though, so youre probably better off just looking for a good deal on the necessary parts...

I converted also...but that's because I've already put more than $10K into my car.

And the only ones who usually want to go from stick to auto are those with really FAST cars. But it's very hard to find someone local to go with the swap.

check out prestigemustang.com they have just about everything you need, not local, but very reasonible compared to most for this sort of thing. i got most of my stuff through them and the local salvage yard when i swapped mine. anyone who says its a pain in the ass is right, anyone who says it shouldnt be attempted (unless you get really lucky and get a great sale or trade deal) does not know what they are talking about.there are lots of things to replace, but there are much worse things you could be doing. it is not a minor job by any means, but i think you will be happy with it.

Some will take them and get it built.

Very very very few ppl that is..

I originally considered doing a straight out swap with someone but realized it was highly unlikely. Plus it could end up being a bigger hassle than gathering all the needed parts for the swap yourself. Not to mention, my auto ended up being busted.
