Here is my problem. I got a 99 gt and was told it has cams, a chip and a tune. She runs sweet but I'm curious to what it has on it. I have no cats and it's LOUD but I like it. I think this car once had a bunch of mods on it and it was stripped down before it was sold. I know it had the battery in the trunk at one time. It might of had a supercharger on it and it looks like it had a oil cooler. I still have the aftermarket oil pan on it. My question is should I take it to get dyno, will they do a custom tune for it? can they tell if I really do have cams and a high performance chip as I was told. how much would this run me? I do have a preditor tuner that came with the car. I just wnat to make sure I'm getting the full benefits of my mods (whatever they are) and hope fully have a better understanding of what I have in there.

yea they can pretty much tell you everything you have. this may be a little pricey since they would have to open her up to see what cams you have, but most cammed cars you can just tell by the sound. and dyno tuning costs anywhere from 300-400/per hour, at least down here in alabama

I would consider a tune but if it runs good and no check engine light then just run it maybe.

400 a hour:eek: Maybe with a chip or programmer included the first time. Then around 150 after that would be reasonable. I think JMS in Alabama is cheaper than 400 a hour. My last tune took 1hr and I think I paid 125. But I really try hard to have everything in order before hand.

Breenspeed charges 150 / hour and normally will spend 2 hours on it, here in Indiana.

Why dont you just call up the guy and ask him what cams he put in it and what other mods are on the car?

I think its old oil deposit. when i bought the gt it had a oil leak and the guy told me that ford wanted over $1000 to fix, they said they had to lift the engine to fix it. I took it to my mechanic and they said the oil pan has a plug on the side(for an oil cooler) and it was leaking from there. especialy when i drove it. it's been about 2 months and no leaks on the ground on the drive way. I did clean up the front underneath but never checked behind the pan area or the mid rear. I'll gunk clean it this week end and check it later in the week.

I have had 3 dyno tunes, from 2 different places. never really takes an hour. Mine tuned in 4 pulls last time. I also don't do any cold pulls afterwards to have inflate the numbers.

I see a Canton oil pan, off-road X-pipe with what looks like Flowmasters, adjustable upper arms and Eiback Sportlines.

To see if you have a chip, take the computer out of the passenger side kick panel and see if anything is attached or if the seals on the EEC were broken.
