99-up mustang seats in 94-98?

I am about to upgrade my mustang seats in my 99 and would like to put my old seats in my friends 96 since his are worn out.

I ask because the brackets are different due to the fact that ford now has the driver seat buckle on the track.

what i need to know is if the seat itself can go onto my friends 96 seat tracks. I dont want to spend half a day finding out and at the same time getting his hopes up.
