Would this be a problem? I found some powerdyne kits for cheap. Or I might save up for a vortec I haven't decided yet.

Anyways a buddy of mine ran a 9psi paxton on his 91 GT with the stock fuel pump for awhile. If I get a good kit would I be able to run 9psi?

would you be getting a better fuel pump, injectors and maf?

If so, there is someone on corral.net runniing 15psi with a vortech.

I am not sure about stock pump and injectors though.

i ran a kb for a while on my stock internals. now it is burning oil like crazy ... i think i broke a piston ring.

moral of the story: it depends on the health of your bottom end.

how many miles do you, Do a compression test, the a leak down test and that should let you know how long it should last.

The motor has about 75k on it.

I have a 190 carter pump in now but I believe the kit comes with a new pump and FMU.

I might just get the 6psi vortec kit. I could always upgrade later if I wanted.

Get the Vortech...If youre not going to buy a new fuel pump and injectors, youll have to use the FMU thats included in the kit. Some people get by with that, some dont. A lot of tuners dont like them.

I fried some rings with about 11psi on a 62,000 mile stock short block. Forced induction is a tricky beast to tame. I'll be out of that game for a long time.

I can't decide what I want to do. I may just run a 75-100 shot of nitrous. Be easier to install and a lot less tricky to tune. Just have to make sure I set everything up right.
