I have a 1996 mustang gt and each time i turn on the air conditioner, dust particles start blowing in the car. Not a lot but enough to bother my eyes so I figured I needed a new cabin air filter. But now I realize that it does not have a cabin air filter. So how can I fix this problem?

sorry dude no easy answers for this, I had a 96 that did the same thing, I think it was the foam stuff they put between the dash and the vents, it started to deteriorate and break away. It wasnt bad enough for me to worry about it, so I never fixed it.

The older models do not have a cabin filter. The source of the dust may be the deteriorating foam (used to seal the tubes to each other and to the vents) or it may be dust from the air. Do you live in a desert locale (Nevada, N. Mexico, Arizona, etc.)? If you live in a dusty area then the only suggestion I can offer is a car cover.

Its this. When i brought my 1995 GT last last summer. It did the same thing. It pissed my GF off big time because it was blowing some black foam crap with some sticky black type of glue that stained anything it blew on. So you guessed it. It blew all over my girls light color work pants and ruined them.

Take the a/c vents off and remove all that loose black foam crap.
