Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of installing the ford racing a/c eliminator kit on my 88gt. It seems like the power steering house on the bottom is too short. Anyway i'm just pissing in the wind cause i have no instructions and the diagram on ford site is two generic pics. Any help or links would be appreciated. I'm working outside and they're calling for rain!!
Thanks

the silver bolts up to the or by the valve cover closer to the motor and the black piece closest to the radiator the power steer pump fits in between them kind of the the alt does just line up the bolt holes you kind of have to turn the brackets to see how it dets bolted down after that its not to hard

In English?

You probably got it handled already, but if not:
(You should've already removed the long stud bolt on the head where the a/c once was.)
The 5-hole aluminum bracket is secured (w/ kits 3 short bolts) through the 3 tapped holes in the cylinder head ...
The p/s pressure hose (thick hose) must be loosened and rotated to fit right (you'll see when you're getting into it)
Then align the holes in the p/s pump bracket with the long holes on the just mounted aluminum bracket ...
.. then position the black steel bracket to align with the water pump and also align with the holes on the p/s pump bracket and aluminum bracket before sliding the 2 long kit bolts through.
Now go take a sip on your beer and then return to finish the job.

If the p/s return hose (lower one) is too short it may be because a previous owner cut some length off of it, in the past, when changing a bad p/s pump.

Oh, and it's better to get soaked with rain then gear oil.

Thanks. I finished everything thing up. I had to disconnect the two power steering hoses. Now everything works fine except the power steering is moaning like crazy. Is the dipstick still accurate in the new position? Any ideas, i don't feel safe driving her like this.

Thanks

Since it wasn't moaning before it sounds like you got air in the system when you disconnected the hoses.

I just pulled on mine firmly (with patience running thin) and it FINALLY went up in to position without disconnecting the hoses.. on my '88 GT. I had to get someone to help pull up on the pump while I shoved the first bolt in.
