Ok, I noticed that my a/c lines that go to the compressor are always cold.
the a/c seems to be operating even if i haven't turned it on.

is this bad?

how can i solve this? I already tried to disconect the electrical plug on the compressor.

thanks

I seriously doubt that what you're witnessing about your A/C system is a problem. If you understand how the system works, you'll notice that while the compressor clutch is engaged, one side is hot and the other is cold. The system compresses the refrigerant liquid to cause it to switch it from a liquid to a gas and back to a liquid again. The compressed liquid turns to a gas, when it passes through the evaporator. The gas is cooled back into a liquid, when it passes through the condenser. The liquid is pulled through the compressor, where the whole cycle starts again. As long as the compressor clutch isn't engaged, the system isn't running.

If you do have a problem, it's probably not with the A/C.

Actually your lines should be cold, there are 2 lines that will be warm or hot to the touch, but most are cold. The compressor is also engaged when the defrost or mix is on.
