I have a couple questions about my new car.

1) A previous owner apparently backed the car into something, causing the paint and clearcoat to crack in one spot at the top of the rear bumper. The pic isn't great but you can see how some of the clearcoat has started to peel. Is there anything I can do about this- even just something to prevent the clearcoat from peeling further?

2) What's the deal with the pedals in these cars? First off- the pedals in my car are just bare metal, no rubber covers, and they almost look like they're supposed to be that way...but I'm assuming that's not true...is it? Second, I'm guessing no car came from the factory with a dead pedal, going by what I found looking on google, so howcome some pedal cover kits for these cars include a dead pedal cover? I also see some places advertising things that I can't tell if they're a bolt-in dead pedal or just a cover, it's a little confusing.

1) The clear coat has to be sanded and re done
2) Yes they are bare metal, to keep Mustangs in "right" price range Ford had to cut corners like pedal cushions, vanity lights, locking fuel door, etc....

Another question I happened to think of...at around 3000 RPM I get a brief buzzing sound, not sure what that might be, are there even cat heat shields on these things to rattle? What should I check?

+1 on the clear coat. You'll need to fix or have that fixed or else it'll continue to flake off. Down here in NC clearcoat and paint burns right off.

I've never had an 05 and don't claim to be an expert, but I've never seen a car that didn't have some kind of rubber pedal cover. If yours doesn't have any I would get some. If you get in there with wet shoes that could be a problem. As far as the dead pedal I think you have to remove the side kick panel and bolt it on. I prefer the factory hump in the carpet for my big feet.

3 grand buzzing could be anything. Does it have any exhaust mods?
