I've read all the threads on here about removing the headlight knob, but here is a new question. I have my knob off, but I can't get it back on. I've lined up things and pushed and done everything, but it still won't secure. Is there any secret to getting it to lock on or should i break out the RTV or super glue?

I've not ever seen a stock headlight knob.

Urban (or Bosko or anyone else), do you think Amanda could drill the knob at the tapered end, and tap a hole for a set screw (like our aftermarket knobs have)?

You could.

I got rid of my stock one a long time ago. The billet ones are cheap, and look nice.

When I did have my stock one, I never had any problems like that with it. It would come off if I pulled the tab, and it would pop right back on. That makes me think your is broken.
