my steering wheel is fraying all over the place and I am looking to replace it w/ a fr500 steering wheel. Is the 03/04 cobra's steering wheel the same as the fr500 wheel or is it a little diff?

Thanks in advance!

The 03/04 cobra wheel isn't the same. I'm not sure leather-wrap wise, but I know it is smaller in diameter. I like mine, it's comfy, makes the car feel more sturdy heh.

What exactly is the deal with the FR500 wheel? Is it lighter or have better leather? What makes it better than our stockers?

Ahh ok . I have driven the cobras and dont recall a different feel...but I could be wrong. Im almost immune to feeling things like better breaks (03-04 cobras feel like my GT), handling(same), or things like that. Good luck and let us know how you like it...

the 03-04 cobras and FR500 is not the same so you wouldn't feel a difference between a cobra and you're own

oh and the the FR leather is more durable

the FR500 steering wheel is great...one of my favorite things i have added to my car. Its thicker and more comfortable in your hand. Plus my stock was really looking like crap so this was an upgrade appearance wise also.

Is the fr500 wheel a direct fit? I have an 02 and wondering if I would need some kind of mounting or adaptor kit

direct swap...(@150 dollars) the diameter is slightly larger due to the thicker rim....i really was surprised how much nicer it is over stock. Holding one of each in your hands is the clincher.
heres a how to

i love my FR500. Its thick mofo then 03Cobra wheel. only thing suck about it is that if you don't have black or black/gray interior, it don't match...

Where is the cheapest place to buy one? My daily driver and the Mrs. has a Mazda 3 that both have a thicker wheel and I love the feel of those. It feels like I have less control and comfort on the Stang.

My stock wheel kinda hurts my hands after driving for awhile. I want the FR500, but with my tan cloth interior it would look all out of place.

The FR500 wheel is a stocker that has been wrapped with padded leather, this is what makes it thicker and feels much better.
I like it a lot.

The FRPP wheel I believe is smaller in wheel diameter but more in thickness than stock.
