? about frying sound

when i turn my car off after i been running my a/c it sounds like when u put an egg on a frying pan, is this normal it sounds like it is coming from underneath the car

It sounds normal. The condensation drain tube is probably dripping on the exhaust pipe causing the sizzling sound.

Yeah its normal, mine does it to. I wonder how someone walking by a cobra would react if they heard that (it sounds like a snake hissing).

Mine really 'fries' when I shut my door. Pay attention next time when you close the door ...

have you seen any broken egg shells anywhere near by?

Yup when ever i shut my door i hear it...... I can also smell bacon...oh that my wife making breakfast.

Happens with the Fox Mustangs as well

The A/C condensation drain port is postioned perfectly so that water dripping out lands on the exhaust.


On a hot humid day you would think you were frying eggs under your hood.

^ yea i thought it was nothing crazy, but i took my mom for a ride and when we got out and closed the door she was like " you have to get that looked at" lol

Haha i thought mine was the only one! My old '94 v6 did the same as well.

I guess a good thing about hearing the sound is that your drain port is not plugged/clogged. That can lead to some funky odors in your vents ...
