I just received my 5.0 shifter, and the top of the shifter's handle (where the grip screws on) is off-set 20-25 degrees. Is this normal? I'm thinking it was designed this way for better shifts?

Of course it is......sorry but kind of silly question......you are going to love that shifter they say that ones the best. I give you a tip......use a bicycle tube as a gasket and put a good bead of RTV sealent around the base. Good Buy.....get it.
i have the pro 5.0 and dont miss any shifts, great shifter..
only thing,, im not sure if its the shifter, or the clutch. but its VERY notchy, and sometimes a little difficult to get into the gears, especially when im trying to bang the gears, i really have to pull on that shifter pretty hard... not sure wht tha problem is.

Myn is the same way. I think it's my shifter bushing, ordered one from the Ford place Monday, SEVEN DOLLARS (w/ tax) for that little thing. Oh well, I probably needed it. I hope it's the problem.
I also ordered the bushing with the shifter because I heard of the problems that you guys speek of....hopefully it will fix your problem...thanks for the bicycle tube tip..that sounds like it could be applied to many situations
