It didn't work for me either. I should have just relied on my memory about the size.

If the string thing doesnt work does any one know what size belt to use. I have no smog pump, and it is the kit that relocates the power steering pump. I know I asked this before but no one knew for sure the length.

The belt length is going to vary based upon tolerances in the production brackets (probably not very much here), and what pulleys are being used. Even the stock pulleys from different applications can be different sizes.

The best I have ever been able to do is:
Use the string and take a guess.
Buy one at the parts store and see if it fits.
Return the belt to the store until it does fit.
I have had to return the belt up to 3-4 times before being satisfied with the fit.
The hard part is getting back to the parts store.

I honestly believe this to be a trial and error procedure.

go and buy two or three belts at a time until you get the right one. save your self some trips. then take back the ones you don't need.
