AC rebuild

What do you guys think, I am in the process of putting the under the hood components of factory air back in my 69 mustang. Should I rebuild the original compressor or switch to a newer model with newer freon.

I'd switch it up to R134a...in that case, a newer compressor (while not essential) may be more efficient. I'd probably put in an updated condenser, new filter drier and hoses (I understand as a minimum hoses that are all rubber must be replaced for R134a). If you have R12 on your shelf, however...
