I have 2001 Mustang v6 I just replaced the entire AC except for the evaporator and now the new compressor will sometimes make a rattling sound if the car is in gear at idle. The AC is blowing cold at 50F in hot weather, but I am concerned I didn't put the right amount of oil. Any thoughts? Should I try adding a little more oil? The compressor tends to make the noise when my RPM drops but goes away if RPM is idling higher in park.
What I did:
- took out all the old ac components except for the evaporator
- flushed the evaporator with AC flush and blow dried for 30 mins
- put 4oz of Pag46 in the compressor and another 4.6oz in the accumulator/drier for a total of 8.6oz
- installed everything and pulled a vacuum for 1 and a half hours
- let the vacuum sit for 30 mins to make sure no leaks
- put 34oz of 134a
