no, nothing should effect the water pump. I would recommend just buying the AC delete kit. I did delete the A/C off my 5.0, but it wasn't working and the car is not a daily driver anyway.
I could never yank the A/C off my GT though. Besides 100 degree days, i need it to defrost the window more than anything else.
