So I'm getting ready to install a mallory 4309 fuel pressure regulator on my car. I am using the factory high pressure fuel pump, and going to a carb instead of the efi. I do have a question though...When the car was efi, I would turn on the key, and hear the fuel pump prime, then it would get quiet after that.(everything was good with the pump at the time, but I did not like the old school tbi 2bbl efi setup) Anyways, when I install this regulator, will it have the same effect? I'm thinking the fuel pump may not reach the point of being "primed" and get quiet, seeing as this regulator has a return line on it. Anyone have experience with these regulators? Also, thanks jrichker for the wiring diagrams! The fuel pump circuit write up is a great one!
