Hey guys, so I have to pull my upper intake off and reinstall my fuel rails and injectors, because something is leaking. I am going to take each injector out and make sure the o ring's are good, then am going to reinstall, is there any sealant that helps the injectors from leaking near the bottom were they go into the lower intake. My question regarding where the injectors go into the fuel rails, is there something I can use to minimize the likelyhood of the injectors leaking from the rails. Like something other than just oil on the o rings? I just don't want to get everything back together, then having to rip it all apart again. I am also installing a new fuel pump. I am getting codes 91 and 41 which I realize could be related to O2 sensors, but I want to get rid of this fuel leak which could be causing a lean condition, because of fluctuating fuel pressure. I also didn't have a vacuum line hooked up to the fuel pressure regulator, not sure if that would cause any issues. Any advice for how I can do this right, not the first but the second time would be great! Thanks guys!

I would go ahead and replace the o-rings anyway.I just put a tiny amount of engine oil (fresh) on each o-ring ad snap them into place.Make sure when you install the fuel rail that it is firmly snapped on to all 8 injectors and then bolt it down. That's my process and I've never had a leak. Also, when you pull the injectors, make sure there are no old o-rings left in the intake or fuel rail.

You can get borg warner o ring and pintle cap kits at pepboys, they are about 2 bucks an injector.
My suggestion for installation of the caps it to warm them up, it's a tight fit.

I don't remember the part number (i've posted it here on stangnet somewhere way back) but pepboys does have them, so don't let them tell you otherwise.

They were brand new looking o rings when I just got the injectors, but pulled them out and the one that is leaking is definitely a bad o right up top.

So if anyone else ever has trouble with leaking fuel at either the injectors, lines or rails, the advice I would give from what I have just learned is...

The best way to find where the leak is coming from and to fix it, is to take off the upper intake and injector wiring harness, turn the key to the on position, and jumper at the diagnostics harness the fuel pump, then check to see where the leak is coming from. That's what I just did to find the injector that was leaking. So once I pulled it out, there it was, a bad o ring. So once I get some o rings from canadian tire or princess auto or wherever, I am going to put everything back together, and do the same thing, just to verify that I have absolutely no leaks!! Anyways, so in my opinion that's the best way. Hope that helps anyone who may find this.

Thanks for the responses too guys! So much appreciated!! So I have another question. So what should I set my PSI at with Engine Off Key On while jumpering the diagnostics. without vacuum. 39? Thanks
