Yesterday i replaced my two 255 inline pumps for one Aeromotive A1000 inline pump. When i drove it home, it was totally fine and drove like it should. Then last night when I went out cruising, the car did what it has been doing for the past month. While at a cruising speed, giving it little gas, it has zero throttle response and when i go to put the clutch in...it dies. It restarts sometimes, luckily it did last night, and will continue to drive erratically, missing and backfiring. Anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this?

Couple things to do and check:
Check for codes
Put her on a wideband, and see if you're a/f is too rich or lean ( I suspect rich)
Check for a burnt wire or a malfunction on your front 02's - these affect closed loop driving (cruise)
Check for a leak somewhere between your maf and intake
Check for a dirty maf
Check out your TPS also - there are some how to articles available on how to meter them and make sure you're getting the right voltage readings at the right time

What made you replace your pumps for the one out of curiosity?
Do you have any issues at WOT?

peace

I replaced the 2 255's because they were making a lot of noise and sounded like they wanted to cut out and they sounded like they wanted to die. There are no issues at WOT. And I put it on a dyno to fix the A/F ratio because it was running rich but I got that straightened out.

I've done it before, you just test resistasnce between two ports, but you have to test the correct two...hell I don't remember. However, I am pretty cerain this can be found somewhere on Corral.net.

Possibly look for posts by Chris98Vobra (I think he was the one who told me how to do so at one point), you can also try searching under my name some time in 2003, I am pretty sure that Chris told me how to do this on a post back then.

hope this helps. If you end up needing coil packs, let me know I have a used set that work fine with 50k on them
