Where can I find an instrument panel for 65 Stang that will fit into the stock location and hold gaues like the ones below?

You mean like the JME bezels that are like $350 without gauges. You can find those at places like http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCatalog/Interior/jme65-66clust.htm or http://www.autoworks.cc/billet_65-66_mustang_gauges.htm . I put the Haneline in my '65.

I didn't like the fact that you have to bend the mounting tabs 180 to install it, it fits completely into the opening, unlike the stock unit.
The Bezel is sort of flimsy, appears to be vacuum molded plastic, but I'm not positive. The fascia plate that goes on it is .022" thk and quite flimsy. Looks ok if you don't look too close. They're pretty expensive too, but I guess they all are.

Thanks for the info, guys. I believe that I'll go for Haneline since it's cheaper and this is just going to be a daily driver restro.

But as not a great as StangNet human seach engines (a.k.a. BarkBuddha)! Maybe I'm not researching right but whenever I look for parts for classic musclecars, must of the returns I get are for Crapmaros and Nogos.

Wouldn't a bit of sheet aluminum, a couple of hole saws, and a bit of sweat be cheaper and more fullfilling in the long run.

Just razzin' ya a bit. I know the feeling when you see all the GM crowd's cool stuff pops up first. But I really do love just searching the internet using several different search engines. I've found lots of cool stuff and ideas that lots of folks aren't even aware of. But it's totally true that the folks on Stangnet are a heck of a resource.

BTW, I was just thinking that you could probably fab up a bezel with a bit of effort for a lot less than what Haneline and JME want. Or see if you can get a 5 guage bezel and mount the guages yourself. Cheaper, and it comes with ego-boosting bragging rights.

There is a cheap (inexpensive) R-model type bezel for aftermarket gauges. I think either NPD or Mustangs Unlimited have it in their catalog. It's like 50 or 60 bucks. Somebody on this board has one, but I've never seen pictures of it installed, so I'm not sure how it looks, but it does the job.

For what it's worth, the one Haneline panel I've seen in person didn't really impress me at all, I'm saving for a JME.

I bought Haneline then went down to my local plastics dealer and bought a small piece of plastic to match my interior, cut the holes, and used the stainless thin plate that comes with it for support in the back. Basically sandwitched the ABS between plastic and metals.

JME is $$$, so I built mine

Here is a pic:

oops, can't insert image.

Anyway, it's a piece of aluminum with vinyl covering. I inserted it into the original gage bezel that I cut up with a dremel tool. I would sure like a JME piece, but it will have to wait.

ABS plastic bezel and autometers.... Simple but it works.... You can also get the ABS plastic setup to work with your stock bezel for $39.00 bucks at North west mustang 541-461-3477... I just bought it and will be getting a new bezel... Gives the best of both worlds... Let me know and I can take pictures... The one pictured I bought for $80.00 from Whizco on the Vintage site, he sells them also...
