I am looking for an aftermarket fuel gauge that will work with the Mustang sending unit. Any one have a suggestion for one?

My fuel gauge has been acting funky for about a year now. I have replaced the sending unit, the Electrolytic Capasitor on the Anti-slosh module and even tryed another stock fuel gauge and all with the same results.

So I must have a wiring issue some where I don't feel like chasing down, so I want to try an aftermarket gauge.

I also need a fuel gauge because I ripped out the factory dash. I called summit and the cobalt blue digital gauge is adjustable to work with diferent factory sending units. I would be afraid to wire that one into your car if it curently has some kind of wiring issue. I would run all new wires from your new sending unit & a switched power source with a fuse just to make sure the factory wiring didn't give you more problems if you dont want to trouble shoot it further.

That is my intent to tap into the current wiring from the sending unit and re-wire for the new gauge. Thanks for the info on the Cobalt Gauge, i will check into one of those.

The problem now with the indash gauge it either reads way past the full level
or the correct level, no in between.
