Aftermarket Fuel Rails????????????

Has anyone converted to aftermarket fuel rails? Got any pics of the setups?

I know the stock fuel rails are supposed to be good for around 500hp, or something ridiculous like that. I am not worried about fuel flow at this point, but since I would like to hook the EGR back up the stroker I will need to relocate the fuel regulator.
I just need to see what the setup is like to know if it will work in my car.

Has anyone seen stock fuel rails that position the regulator at the front of the motor? I looked at some Bronco lines that put the regulator on the drivers side, but then the regulator hits on the upper intake.

Any other ideas?

Good for 500 horses? Thats the first time I heard that!!! Im sure if the rails were brand spanking new, but lets remember some of our cars are almost 20 years old now. Im about to dump the stock junk rails and get bigger ones, Im no where near 500 horses and its giving me problems. I would just upgrade to newer and better rails.....

Regardless of how much power can be made with the stock fuel rails, mine will need to go for EGR clearance.

Any thoughts?

Unless you knew someone on some developement team for fuel inj. at Ford, you won't have a 20 year old EFI Mustang.

That said, is there any aftermarket fuel rail system that uses the stock location regulator?

1986 was the first year for Sequential EFI and that was the first year with fuel rails. 1985 had a TBI EFI system with Automatics. BUT 1986 was 19 years ago so that's pretty close to 20 years old in my book.

Back to what was originally asked, Aeromotive might be where you want to look for what you're trying to do. It uses AN fittings and with AN fittings a custom install, you could put the regulator on the firewall if you wanted. He'll you could put it anywhere you wanted as long as run enough fuel line.

Aeromotive was the first company that came to mind, so I have been looking through the old mags for some installs and have checked out their website.

Unfortunately my engine bay has been modified a little too much for me to be comfortable just ordering up parts that should fit a 302. For example I only know of 1 strut tower brace that will clear the 351w dist, and I cannot use tall valve covers with the shortened upper intake.

I was hoping to see some pics of how the aftermarket fuel rails (and other components) fit and where the fittings are in relation to the rest of the motor.

Without even seeing your engine compartment I'd wager I could set up the Aeromotive parts to work like you need them too in your engine compartment.
