Well, I ordered an aftermarket head unit yesterday and I want to be ready to install it as soon as it gets here. I need to know where to start taking the dash apart to get the stock one out.

Shouldnt take more then 5 minutes to pull the stereo. Pull the shift knob, open the center console,2 phillips there, then pull up on console top piece. The side of the dash are on with clips and pull right off. The center dash piece is also on with clips, but disconnect the TCS and 12V port and the lower plugs on the a/c controls and pull it off

Yep, 7mm. The radio is then held in by 4 more 7mm bolts.

Look around on http://www.crutchfield.com. They create MasterSheets for almost every make and model on how to take apart and put together the dash for installing an aftermarket radio, and they include one when you buy your headunit.

By chance, the sample MasterSheet on their site, which isn't too hard to find, is for the 2005+ Mustang, and you can download it free.

Good luck!
