Aftermarket seats

My only experience with this is Corbeau Forza II seats. They really are bang forthe buck. I fit in them perfectly. The material is thin though. Spend 50-100 more on each seat and I bet the material gets better. I hate leather seats so I'd never replace my cloth ones with that.

I just bought and installed Cobra Daytona seats and a Schroth Rallye4 harness for the drivers side. It is 100 times better for support since I will be doing a lot of autocross and HPDE at the racetrack. I decided on the Daytona because I liked the design and it also came in beige so it matches my interior =) They are a little more pricier than corbeau but the quality is good. I don't have pictures handy but here is a link.

Those are some nice looking seats. I'm interested in changing out my seats. Will the Cobra's work with my electric seats or do you have to change over to a manual adjuster on the driver side?

as a safety issue i should get seats, i am 6'2" and my shoulders are above the headrest...i would hate to be rear ended with absolutely zero support for me noggin. :( do the cobra brand seats or any other seat sit you lower?

I'm upgrading for safety 1st also. I'm 6'1". Recaros have a high back. I think the Cerullos( www.cerullo.com ) do also. I'm sure the Cobras are the correct height. The price of the Cobra Misano will produce a heart attack. So will some of the others. Anyway, the Cobra line looks good..Thanks

Well, the brackets are from wedge engineering and are manual. There are three height adjustments you can bolt the seat in. Unless you are under 5 foot tall, you will be using the lowest adjustment. You may be able to use your factory powered seat brackets but I'm not sure. You would just have to check to see if the rails on the cobra seats(or other) are the same width as the stock brackets and if they are, you will probably probably have to drill holes on your stock bracket if the holes on the seat don't line up. I can measure the width of the rails compared to the stock seats for you when I get a chance.

It depends on the bracket, I got mine with the wedge engineering bracket and it sits a little lower than stock on the lowest out of 3 settings. BTW the seat goes back further which would help out taller peeps.

i think aftermarket seats really completes a car but damn spending 800. to 1000k for seats is ridiculous.

yeah, mine was pricey, around $700 including the bracket but If you went with corbeaus or something, they are close to half the price. around $300-400 per seat not including brackets though.

They also have the seats(simulated leather) in Jegs for about $200 a pop. Not sure of the quality but they look pretty good.

Cobra Daytonas  I want these sooo bad. I heard that they are very uncomfortable after you sit in them for long periods of time. I use my GT as my daily driver, so I have been second guessing getting these if that is true. Is your car a DD too? Or just a track fiend? Let me know how they feel. Send me a PM

For some reason, seats have been the hardest thing for me to buy. There are so many different types, kinds, designs, etc. The prices are dramatically different, but you really can't tell by just looking at an online picture. I wish there was a store you could go to to see all the different makes and why one brand would want so much more money than another.
