Aftermarket tach with light, general questions

Alright, before I go out and drag (still months away... gotta get all new parts first) I wanna get an aftermarket tach, one with a shift light... while I will have my MSD ignition in the car, I don't want to have the car go all the way till the ignition cuts off the spark so, my question is, all the aftermarket tachs I've seen all go up to like 10k, 11k, 12k, and they're all for ricers, I've only seen 1 that goes to "only" 8k... does anyone know of any that hang around 6K, as I plan on setting my MSD limiter at 5.5 or 6, depending on where my power drops off after it's dyno'd...
Anyone have links to the place they purchased their tach? Any prefered brands? Am I thinking way off course...

(Oh, I just didn't want a tach that went to 10+K RPM kuz they look kind'a ricey...)

Also, would I have problems hooking one up to an MSD 6AL ignition? (I have no idea currently on how to install the tach, btw .. more research needed there, but I wanted an idea on price/location of recommend brands/types)
