My a/c don't blow cold air. heater works fine, but I dont need that in this starting to get 90 degree heat. It doesnt even cycle the idle. How do I tell if the compressor is busted?? And where do i start? Thanks a lot

it may be low on refrigirant, but if it is low then there might be a leak

The thing is, it isnt cycling, if it was low (from what I've read) it would be cycling

I think the cycling switch is busted, anybody have a picture or a description?? Thanks

If the refridgerant is low it wouldn't cycle. Buy a pressure tester to see if it is low. They are not expensive.

Once the A/C system is empty it will not cycle at all. If it is low it will short cycle..

There could be other electrical reasons why the a/c will not turn on that you need to check..

First thing you can do is check the a/c charge level and if it's ok and it still don't run the compressor then you have a electrical problem. First thing I do from there is pull the connector from the low side cycling switch and short the connector with a paperclip on the harness end and see if it turns the compressor on.. check that then get back to us

I pulled the switch and just put a new one on and nothing happened, I guess I should just try to short it. But I'm away from my car since im going to frisco for 3 days.
I checked the fuses and they're fine. The crap still dont go!

short the connector on the low side switch and see if the compressor runs.. ONLY do this for a few seconds.

k, I got back and shorted the connector at the low side port. The clutch came on, the car jumped to 1,100 rpms then dipped back down to normal idle and the air was still hot. But the clutch stayed on. So i grabbed my bottle of r-134 with a gauge on it and connected it, and the gauge read that it had some r-134 already. Now what?? Thanks a lot

Next you need to turn on the AC all the way up an let that go for a little bit then start putting in that gas stuff while shaking the bottle. I did this a couple days ago, I was tired of hot air comin out when it was already gettin hot outside

A shop needs to evacuate the system. They will fix the leak, and recharge the system.

What does "evacuate the system" mean? And HOW can a leak be fixed without replacing the A/C Compressor? I would like to know.
