My a/c has not worked for 5 years in my 91 5.0. I only drive the car on some weekends so it never was important to me. I am getting the heater core changed and was going to have the a/c repaired as long as the compressor was ok. Well, the compressor is not ok. I do not want to pay $550 for a new one, it is not that important to me.
If i bypass the a/c compressor with the serpetine belt, will that affect the heater controls are function? How much power does it take out of the motor to turn the compressor?
