Air Filter Oil Or No Oil

So the following air filter was on the car when I bought it and I am now cleaning it. I think it is an actual BBK air filter. My question is do these get some kind of oil like KN filters or are they dry? If oil what type?

I hope that filter does not mount in the engine compartment. If it does. you are asking for problems and decreased engine performance. It becomes a hot air intake and the hot air and turbulence will cause idle problems.

Don't do this!

If the filter is mounted in a box or inside the wheel well fender liner, use the K&N oil and apply it according to the instructions for the K&N filter.

unfortunately it is and will be replaced with an in-fender model soon just further down on the list of ToDo items.

Once I confirm this lower intake gasket is sealed it will be next.

Trust me I agree with you all just had other items if they were not addressed the air filter would have been worthless. ;-)
