I was at the track one night..and talked to guy who had his air silencer removed..which i knew about..but he also had no air filter...is that possible? If so what does it do? If you have the air filter box with no filter..will it harm your gt? And whats the purpose?

The purpose is to suck...as much air as possible (which is done by eliminating restrictions). This is fine for a blast down the 1320, but obviously not for daily driving, where all kinds of dirt, dust, bugs and whatever else could make it into your engine, causing damage.

panty hose works great if you don't mind some people laughing when they look under the hood.

Listen guys, don't forget that the filter ALSO serves the purpose of aligning the air (kinda like in a voteching fashion) into the intake piping also. This aids in the pressurization of the intake manifold...........So don't toss those filters just yet
