I did a search and came up with alot of threads about it. I read most of them, But guess that i'm just not getting it???

What does it mean in easy terms...lol I can't figure out how to even go about fixing it. I haven't checked for a code 12 yet, so I don't know if it's stored in there. All that flashes is a code 52.

The battery terminals were all corroded and full of the white crap on them, so I replaced the terminals and cleaned up the battery posts.

Any info is greately appreciated

Vic, my interpretation of Code 52 is that (one meaning): simply that the battery was disconnected at some point. Here's an explanation of it.

If that's not it, you need to trace the constant power to the module to see if it's intermittant.

Good luck.

I did read that article before posting this thread, but I can't really make sense of it. I am just going to reset the system (clear all codes) and see if it comes back. @ guess that it could have been a battery issue, but i'm not sure.

I did find out that the horn doesn't work all the time. it works intermidently.

Please excuse the mispelling. I am at work and typed this in using my treo 700p.....lol 6otta love these phones at work......LOL

For your horn, if it's the original steering wheel, look at the horn contacts. My OEM wheel had worn contacts and I had to beat the horn pad hard enough to set the air bag off to make it sound-off. You can adjust the contacts a little bit (it didnt help me).

The commonality between the horn and SRS is the clockspring, but that wouldnt be a code 12/52. Seems likely that it's two separate issues.

Good luck.

In re-reading this:

If you hosed with the battery terminals, that might or might not have caused the code (that's what sucks about having a code 52 pop up).

For your horn: If you want, check the horn contacts. If they look good, I chose (when tracking my issue down) to go right to the horn relay. It's in the underhood fusebox. I lifted the relay a little bit and used my meter to check relay terminal values. I was good except for not getting the signal from the horn pad and that's what made me go test the horn buttons (the horn was jacked when I got the car, so I didnt have a great idea on what to check out first).

The relay testing is cool cuz it tells you a direction to go. But the horn button being the cause is really likely IMHO.

Good luck.
