How do I turn off the Airbag light? My car was in an accident, and now has new airbags. The problem is the light has been on since the accident and hasn't turned off with the new airbags. I plugged them in and installed them correctly; I don't see the problem. Anybody know anything about this?

Any Ford techs here? I was pretty sure it had to be reset, but I want to know the process.

It's odd that the people that replaced the bags didn't turn off the light. You willmost likely have to stop by the dealer and have them do it.

I replaced the bags myself, that is why I haven't turned off the light--I don't know how. And no, disconnecting the battery does not work.

resetting the light is easy...

locate a grey connector under the glovebox, it isnt connected to anything, it is just stuck up there. turn the key to the on position and wait for the ENTIRE airbag light code to complete (3 flashes, pause, 5 flashes for example) short out the 2 leads in the connector (2 outside contacts) hold it there until you hear beeps from the computer.

that should do it.

short the connector out after the first airbag light error code completes, and no it wont kill the bags, it just simply resets the computer...
