Alignment Issue (getting familiar with)

that can be caused by lack of rotation. even with a perfect alignment if you dont rotate every 5K they will chop up like that

So how about putting the rears on the front and getting 2 new tires for the rear? Still have not done taxes and am not in the best of financial situations.

Yeah,you can do that,but i would get the alignment checked on the front passenger side for sure,best to get both fronts done,but the passenger side is definitely needed.

The tires starting to cup. Like the previous poster said that is more likely caused by lack of rotation. your alignment could possibly be adding to it some what. Just go to a local Les Schwab if you are on the west coast. They will do an alignment check for free. Trust me I work at one doing alignments all day

I'm gonna see if I can get the car in this week. Need a break inspection as well, but that's another thread.

At least it should not take that long to get it done. The 4-bolt caster camber plates should make it easier as well. On the bright side the tires are only $88 each.

I fully understand the possible wear from lack of rotation, however, why just the one side? Possibly cause it may be just a hair off?? I just wish I had a garage to do some of this stuff in.

Is that why it looks like "flat spots" instead of a steady wear around the circumference of the tire?

Nope.

my driving pattern to work on a daily basis is:
turn right, travel 16 miles turn left, park
returning home:
turn right, travel 16 miles, turn left, park

I would definitely take a look at the alignment.Judging all four tires,the fronts are obviously cupping,but the passenger side is a lot worse while the driver side is minor.Rotating will help,but for only some much,cause if the alignment is out,it will keep happenning,and tires get pretty expenssive after awhile.I myself have been running wider tires out back for a while now,so rotating can't be done,and i never had a cupping issue with my front tires ever since i bought her new in '03.A good alignment,will either slow this down (depending on driving manners),or make it non existent in my opinion.When i still had the original Good Years,i got 5 years out of the fronts without rotating them.What killed was dry rotting/age LOL!Other then that,the wear on the was perfect.

New shoes going on today. Getting all 4 done cause after closer inspection, the rears are down to the wear bar. The car is in the stall right now getting an alignment verification/adjustment.

Gonna try out the BFGoodrich g-force sports. The shop owner (Kim) knows her stuff and it just happens to be the tire she runs on hers. Granted I did my research and had a printout of possible tires before I went in. The sports were on that list, and the last set of tires she sold me (the Fuzions) have had no problems. So I will take advice and run the sports.

She also is going to do a break inspection as well. 7yrs with about 76k on the clock and still on factory rotors and pads.

Cannot see the pics but whenever I got cupping it was due to bad wheel bearings.

This Just in...

Brakes are good. Rotors are within spec and there is still 1/2" on the pads.

Bad news is that my ball joints are shot. So, she can get it done today with Moogs (with grease fittings) for a lower price than new breaks, so there's a small silver lining.

i've not seen any ball joints fail on a mustang with under 200K. not saying it cant happen, but i would get a second opinion

She said there was minimal grease in them. She's not just a tire jockey, but a long time friend of the family, so trust is not an issue. After hearing what she had to say, it brought to mind that for the past few weeks when I back out of my drive way I would hear a "muted pop" when the wheels were cut sharply. It never did it on turns while driving or turning, only when backing out of the driveway.

She finished them later today 136/each installed. They also finished the re-alignment afterwards. However, the tire delivery truck did not make it to the shop today so I currently have my father in law's car.

Just picked up the car at lunch. Nothing like new tires on a car. Noticed a difference in the handeling from just driving around town for a bit. I did do the whole backup and turning of the steering thing before I left the shop and no more pop noise. I can't wait to get it out on the open road on my way home tonight.
