Anyone know if there should be the same amount of alignment shims on each side of the upper control arm?

I am considering doing the shelby drop and just kinda curious.

No, there doesn't. The amount of shims depends on how far your front end is out of alignment. After you're done with the Shelby drop you need to have a alignment done.

If you do your drop, mark the shims when you take them out. They will go back in the same spots so your alignment won't be too far off when you take it to the shop. FYI: you usually can lose an 1/8" shim from each stack, though, to keep the static camber close as you won't need as many shims after the drop. Make sure to get a performance alignmentl like those for a Shelby, not the stock bias-ply alignment! 2BaV8 has the specs on his website.
