I've only heard good things about it, this is from allcarstereo.com
The Worlds First Integrated XM Radio/CD Tuner. Designed not only for looks but for high performance, going beyond AM/FM reception. All you have to do is add an XM Antenna and subscribe for service to enjoy over 100 channels of digital XM Satellite Radio.

They have it for $285.

I thought seriously about this head unit myself, but it *wasn't right* for my applications.

The CDA-9820XM doesn't has, imho the following shortcomings - whether they're important to *you* is what matters:

2 sets of pre-outs instead of 3
pre-outs are 2V
no HP filter or LP filter
no MP3 or WMA capability

Don't get me wrong - it's very attractive - and a decent deck - but if you have advanced needs, it may be better to get a deck with a more complete set of features - and wait until June when the XM-Direct for Alpine solution comes along (at around $125 supposedly - including antenna).

Good luck - and if having a decent deck with integrated XM is all you require, you'll probably do well with this deck.

You really come out on the money because the tuners are so expensive. I really looked into it but went for a pioneer just because. I think it is a good idea.... Probably the first of many to come. Then I am going to end up getting the SkyFi instead of running the XM through my headunit because I listen more in the house than in the car and it is one of the plug and play units.

I'm jealous - I *want* XM now - but..

"I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct" "I'm gonna be patient and wait for XM Direct"

Glad you like the deck - Did I mention that I *really* want XM?
