Alt. internals...those who have taken apart

I am polishing my alt. and have it apart and got to looking at the parts....


I was looking at the diagram that is for 3g's in exploded view. The reg. has 2 brushes in the drawing.

My reg. only has 1...there are "track" marks on the shaft were it looks like 2 may have been there?

However, if you look down were the second brush would be there is no wire, no nothing. The other brush has a spring, and wire attached to it?

Do I need to find another reg. or is it normal to only have 1 brush???

Charging just fine the alt might have 4-6mo of use or so.

There is no way they on opposite sides. The body of the reg. has a slot for two...on on top and one about 1/4in down from that one. if you look at the reg. from the face the slots look like =.

I am just worried something fell out that I didnt notice. But there is nothing around and like I posted no wires hanging/dangl. from were it would have gotten tore/ripped/fell off?
