Trying to help a co-worker's son

He has an rough 69 Coupe, 300 CI 6-cyl car. Should be original motor.

Transferring the title to another state, but has a problem finding the VIN. DMV needs a rubbing, problem is, there is no door tag, the dash tag is missing, the the fender apron had some sort of surgury that has the stamped VIN currently not findable. No buck tag, and he has not looked to see if there is a VIN on the pass apron.

Are there any other places a VIN could be?

Many Thanks!

Dan

Other than the passenger side fender apron? Unless someone else knows of another place, no. You covered them all. Pull the passenger fender. But, the problem is, you usually need two valid sources that match. THe title "may" be enough to qualify as the second source, but don't hold your breath. Depends on the state...

What he said. I doubt that 300 six is the original engine as those were only used in trucks. Are you sure it's not a 250?

The big six, as the car is a 5-lug & 8" rear.

if it is the original motor it would the 250 not the 300. i also wouldn't count on the VIN being stamped on the engine block but it could be, if it is i believe it would be located on a machined flat on the front of the motor under the thermostat housing.

it sounds as if someone used his 6 banger car to "revive" another car and then sold it for scrap not expecting that anyone would ever bother trying to get it back on the road

No other serial numbers were found, so the kid is in a tough spot, he has to keep his title for now.

He ultimately fixed it by buying a 1999 convertible 'stang to drive, the 69 is still stitting.

Pak,

doing good! How is yoru family? Any updates on the car?
