Got a 92 GT. Previous owner did a poor job at converting to a 3G alternator - i.e. crappy wiring job at the alternator end. Plus it was draining the battery when off (no lights were left on, we checked). As I am not planning to mod this one and leave it stock, I converted it back to a 2G and get a new alt. Finally took it home which was about a 15min drive. Car ran great, charged and all. Got it in the driveway and the battery light comes on. Let it run and go get my battery load tester. Showed 12.5v with no lights on or any other accessories. So I can only assume it was running off the battery.
Today I did checking on the wires at the alternator side and at the solenoid side. I haven't checked the voltage yet, but I have probed with a multimeter on the ohm setting to check for resistance and continuity. I get very little resistance when testing the two black/orange wires to the green wire PAST the fusible link at the solenoid side. I also have very little resistance and on the yellow/white wire at the solenoid side to the alt.
I took the alternator to have it tested and it came back good. The battery is a 6mo old 1000 CCA.
I am at a loss as to where the problem could be.
