alternator question

Are the alternators from 1996-2004 all interchangable? I know you need the bracket for the plastic to aluminum crossover but are all the bolt holes the same? Also do the pulleys have the same number of ribs on these years?

no they are not, 1999 up are 2 bolt up top and some like the "Bullitt" use a different plug/connector. 1998 back are on the single top-bolt design and on some the alt pulley is different and not serviced by Ford. plus there are 2 styles of each, 1 is a 4G alt and the other is a 6G alt and then some are 120 amp and some are 130amps
