so randomly i start to lose volts today and by the time i got home today it was down to ten volts. went to autozone so they could check it and the guy said a lose wire? i still think its my alternator? anyone have this happen? also where can i get a better one?

I had this happen last year. I would look for a loose connection somewhere(which I blame for my fire earlier this week), or there could be a bad crystal in the alternator. a bad crystal would cause a significant drop in charging power. you could also have a bad ground. I ultimately got rid of my stocker for a 3g unit.
short of my earlier mishap I havnt dropped below 12v yet. let us know how it goes.

You can get one from PA-Performance and numerous other sources. A search in here will reveal the vendors and individual members who sell the alts and wiring upgrade kits.

The 3G is stock on 94-95 Mustangs so if you find a new one for that application, you should be good.

In any case, be sure to do the wiring upgrade.

Good luck.

i got mine off ebay for about $150 if i remember correctly, and it came with the 4ga wire and fuse. not a reman either. brand new. can't remember where it came from, but it was a company, not a personal seller.... maybe just check out ebay?
